Programs in Our Community

 Women of the Wall -  A lecture and discussion with Rabbi Jacqueline Romm Satlow, Director of the Center for Jewish Culture at UMass Dartmouth.  “Women of the Wall” is a group of women and men who meet monthly for prayer/protest which aims to change the status quo that is currently preventing women from being able to pray freely at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. The program is sponsored by the Center for Jewish Culture – a beneficiary of financial support from the Jewish Federation of Greater New Bedford.  Monday, November 4, 2013, Noon to 1:30pm at the Claire T. Carney Library, Grand Reading Room. Parking lot 13.  

 Last Sunday, Norwegian-American author Irene Levin Berman, shared her account of growing up in Norway during the Holocaust with nearly 100 people at TI. The program which also included a vibrant Q&A session, book dedications by the author, and a wonderful dessert reception was successfully put together by the Holocaust Committee of the Federation.

 N.
