Community Vigil In Fall River - Join Us in Solidarity and Support
"We stand together against hatred and bigotry of any kind, because it affects all of us." Those were the words of Rabbi Mark Elber of Temple Beth El in Fall River when I spoke with him this morning. Along with Cantor Shoshana Brown, Rabbi Elber organized tomorrow's vigil of solidarity and support. I will be there and I know many from the Greater New Bedford Community will be there with me.
Please join me at the Fall River Hebrew Cemetery tomorrow, Tuesday, March 26, 5:30 PM as we stand in solidarity with the Fall River community in the aftermath of this abhorrent act of anti-Semitism. Those in attendance will include members of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim communities as well as members of the Jewish War Veterans, VFW, Massachusetts National Guard and others.
The Anti-Defamation League of Massachusetts condemned the vandalism in a statement Wednesday: "The desecration of The Hebrew Cemetery of Fall River is an inexcusable act of antisemitic hatred in the place where we honor and remember the lives of our community members."

For directions, go to Hebrew Cemetery or enter 73 McMahon Street, Fall River, into GPS.
